Professor Hubb is a UK-based online tutoring platform that connects students with experienced, carefully vetted tutors. We provide personalised one-to-one lessons designed to build understanding, confidence and academic results across a range of subjects and levels, from primary through to university entrance.
We cover a wide range of subjects, including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English and Engineering, along with other academic subjects depending on tutor availability. If you're not sure whether we cover a particular subject or level, get in touch and our team will let you know.
Every tutor is carefully selected based on their qualifications, subject expertise and teaching experience. Our tutors are UK-qualified and DBS checked, giving parents and students confidence that lessons are delivered by professionals with a genuine background in education.
Yes. One-to-one tutoring is at the heart of what we do. Each lesson is focused entirely on the individual student, allowing the tutor to adapt pace, explanations and practice questions to that student's needs, strengths and goals.
Yes, we support GCSE students with personalised lessons designed around their specific subjects, exam board and areas that need the most attention. Tutors work with students to build core understanding as well as effective exam technique ahead of assessments.
Yes. Our A-Level tutoring is tailored to the demands of advanced study, helping students deepen subject knowledge, strengthen problem-solving skills and prepare thoroughly for exams and, where relevant, university applications.
Absolutely. Tutors help students understand key concepts, practise past-paper style questions, identify weaker topics and build a focused revision plan, so students walk into exams feeling prepared rather than overwhelmed.
Yes. Where applicable, lessons are aligned with the student's specific curriculum, exam board and learning goals, so the content covered in tutoring directly supports what's being taught and assessed at school.
Lessons take place online through suitable video-call and learning technology, allowing your tutor to explain concepts, share resources and work through problems together in real time, wherever you're based.
Lesson length can vary depending on the package and the student's needs. Our team will confirm the exact lesson duration and structure with you before your sessions begin, so there's never any confusion.
Yes. We match you with a tutor based on subject, level and your learning goals, and you're welcome to review your tutor's background before confirming. Our team is happy to help you find the right fit from the start.
Of course. If you feel another tutor would be a better fit, simply contact our team and we'll help arrange an alternative tutor where available, so your learning experience stays on track.
We understand that plans change. Please give us reasonable advance notice if you need to reschedule, and we'll do our best to find a new time that works. Late cancellations or missed lessons without sufficient notice may be treated differently, since your tutor will have reserved that time for you.
Once you choose a package that suits you, we'll guide you through a secure online payment process. Your pricing is confirmed and agreed before any payment is taken, so you always know exactly what you're purchasing.
Invoicing follows your chosen package structure, and our team will let you know exactly when your next invoice is due as part of your onboarding. If you're ever unsure, you can reach out and we'll clarify your billing schedule.
No. All pricing is communicated clearly before payment, so there should never be any unexpected charges for the tutoring services you've agreed to. If anything is unclear, just ask us before you purchase.
Yes, additional lessons or packages can be arranged, depending on tutor availability. Simply get in touch with our team and we'll help you add more sessions to keep your progress going.
If we're unable to provide the agreed tutoring service, we'll make reasonable efforts to reschedule, offer an alternative tutor, or find a suitable replacement arrangement. See our full Refund Policy below for details.
Yes. Once lessons have started, you can request a refund for lessons you haven't yet used. Completed lessons are deducted from the refundable amount. Full details are in our Refund Policy section below.
We understand things come up. Genuine, one-off circumstances are handled fairly, but repeated last-minute cancellations or no-shows where the tutor was available may be treated as completed lessons, since that time was reserved for you.
If a significant technical issue on our side prevents a lesson from taking place, we'll normally reschedule it. If that's not possible, the lesson may be credited or refunded. See the Refund Policy below for full details.
Our Refund Policy
Simple, fair and transparent — designed to protect both your investment and your tutor's reserved teaching time.
Fair to you, fair to your tutor
At Professor Hubb, we want every student and parent to feel confident when choosing our tutoring services. That's why we keep our refund policy simple, fair and transparent — your money is never trapped for services you haven't received.
If a tutoring package has been purchased but no lesson has yet taken place, you can request a refund. A reasonable administrative deduction may apply only where this has been clearly communicated to you before purchase.
Where no service has been delivered, we make every reasonable effort to process your refund promptly.
Once lessons have started, you can request a refund for unused lessons. Any lessons already completed will normally be deducted from the refundable amount.
If a tutor becomes unavailable, or we're unable to provide the agreed tutoring service, we'll make reasonable efforts to reschedule the lesson, provide an alternative tutor, or offer a suitable replacement arrangement.
If the service genuinely cannot be provided, you may request a refund for the affected unused lessons.
Please give reasonable advance notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Where sufficient notice is given, we'll make reasonable efforts to reschedule without an additional charge.
Repeated last-minute cancellations, no-shows or missed lessons may be treated as completed where the tutor was available and had reserved that time — this protects your tutor's reserved teaching time while still allowing flexibility for genuine circumstances.
If a lesson cannot reasonably take place due to a significant technical issue affecting Professor Hubb or the tutor, the lesson is normally rescheduled. If that's not possible, the affected lesson may be credited or refunded.
If a technical problem is caused by the student's own internet connection, device or environment, we'll work with you to find a reasonable solution where possible.
If you or your child feel the tutor isn't the right fit, contact us as soon as possible. We'll make reasonable efforts to understand the issue and, where possible, arrange a tutor change.
A tutor mismatch should never automatically mean you lose the value of your unused lessons.
Approved refunds are normally returned through your original payment method where possible. Processing times may vary depending on your payment provider or bank.
We may consider refunds, credits or alternative arrangements in exceptional circumstances, assessed on a case-by-case basis. We'd rather this policy be fair than unnecessarily rigid.
Have a question about a payment, cancellation or refund? Contact us before assuming a lesson or package is non-refundable — we'll review the circumstances and try to reach a fair solution.
